The Los Angeles used a 23 point effort by Blake Griffin to win their 13th straight game and defeat the Phoenix Suns 103-77 on Sunday night at the US Airways Center.

Griffin scored 23 points on 8 of 12 shooting and added 11 rebounds. He even knocked down his first three pointer of the season at the end of the third quarter.

The Clippers shot 11 for 21 behind the arch as a team and were led by Jamal Crawford and Matt Barnes who both made 3 each. The Suns went 3 for 17 behind the arch. As a matter of fact, going back to last night at Portland, the Suns went 18 straight shots before Sebastian Telfair hit a three pointer to begin the 4th quarter.

The Suns had to travel from Portland late last night and it showed in the second half. The Suns were down 43-40 before the Clippers went on a 15-3 run to close out the first half. The Suns never got it any closer the rest of the game and could only muster 34 second half points. They did hang around before the Clippers hit 4 three pointers in a row to close out third quarter on a 14-1 run and essentially clinch the game.

The Suns were led in scoring by Jared Dudley's 19 points. Luis Scola and Markieff Morris were the only other players to score in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Marcin Gortat had a near double double with 8 points and 12 rebounds. Micheal Beasley sat out tonight due to an illness.

The game was very heated at moments. There were 6 technical fouls called including two on Suns coach Alvin Gentry late in the 2nd quarter that resulted in an ejection. Jermaine Oneal picked up his 8th of the season when he got tangled up with Ronny Turiaf and both were called for the double technical. March Gortat and D'andre Jordan each picked up the other technicals.

The Suns fell to 11-17 and host the 20-7 New York Knicks on Wednesday night.
